Worries into Praises

I will not worry,
being anxious about anything,
but instead,
I let petitions and praises
shape my worries into prayers,
letting God know my concerns.

BWAB – Empowerment from Philippians 4:19

Worry comes from all angles of life. It can affect us in relationships, health, finances, loved ones, employment, and pretty much any part of life if we let it into our minds. It is one of the enemy’s greatest weapons used against us to cripple our minds and our bodies. Whispering to our thoughts that everything is impossible, all is hopeless, I am not good enough, it could never happen to me, and why even bother.

But this negativity and false truth needs to be a signal to put the armor of God on and shape them into praises. Why, because we have a God who is here as our Savior but also is in relationship with us. God is our Heavenly Father who loves us and we are His children. Children are not meant to be alone, unwanted, unloved, undeserving. We are supposed to reach out to our Heavenly Father with our hearts knowing He is there as our comforter, our provider, our savior, our strength, our wisdom, our counselor and so much more in His goodness.

Take that worry, anxiety, fear, doubt and shape them into praises that let God handle them His way, supernaturally. Praise Him for being our Heavenly Father who will handle this in His strength, His power, His wisdom, and His supernatural way. The reason we cast it onto Him in the first place, it is beyond our capacity and need Him.

In faith, expectantly praise Him knowing you just have handed off all that to God, the Most High, the All-Powerful, Loving Father and then let it go. Start filling your mind and heart with His promises. Even when he enemy shouts louder into your minds thoughts, shout louder in God’s Word of who He is, what He can do, and who we are in Jesus Christ.

Shape your future using God’s Word, not the words of the enemy!

Isaiah 43:2 ESV
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

Psalm 23:4 ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Isaiah 41:13 New King James Version (NKJV)
13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand,
Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.

Matthew 11:28-29 New King James Version (NKJV)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Philippians 4:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God’s Blessing

God, I ask for strength
and to stay encouraged,
not to lose heart of doing good,
knowing when the time is right,
I will receive a harvest of blessings
in due season.

BWAB – Empowerment from Galatians 6:9

God calls each one of us with a purpose. He has amazing plans for our lives. A purpose that will glorify His name while raising us up higher physically and spiritually. With each new height, God takes with us, comes greater amounts of blessings He pours into our lives.

That also means the higher we climb, the more prepared we must become. For each season in a new height will require more focus on what we have been called by God to do. Certainly, God knows this and that is why the blessings of what we do for Him will also increase in its due season.

Doing what God has called us to do, no matter how small or large, we can’t rush or microwave the process. God uses farming and harvests to show that each season is important before the harvest comes due. There is a time to prepare the equipment, prepare the fields in spring before planting or in fall for the winter months, taking advantage of each season for the result of an abundant harvest.

This requires strength and encouragement that comes from God because He is the one who called us for this purpose. For some things, the seasons can be short, as in helping a stranger change their tire or help a neighbor in time of need. But, when the calling is for greater things or the main purpose in life, the seasons can be long and sometimes the process can be years before the due season comes.

When the seasons are longer, staying encouraged and having the strength to endure needs to be fed and nourished. This is done by taking time to renew the mind and the body. It is very critical to recharge continuously in some capacity. Just like a car without an alternator to recharge the battery, quickly the car will stop functioning. It is crucial to take care of the mind and the body together.

Renew the mind in God’s Word, feed it with His love, feed it with His promises, know His strength, know the authority He has given us to be used in this life. If your loved one only said I love you once and never said it again, doubt and worry would start to creep because there is nothing to reinforce what was said only one time. The mind feeds the heart, and this is where God’s Word is needed.

Take a moment and focus on this verse:
Isaiah 41:10 English Standard Version (ESV)
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Remove the distractions in life that can hinder God’s plan. How much time are we being still with God where the focus is only on Him. If we want to fulfill God’s plans, then focusing on Him needs to happen. Take time away from the phone, television, the noises in life where the end of the day is not satisfying because time was stolen from the purpose. If it seems the noise escalates when being still, where it feels louder rather than quieter. That is just showing how much noise is being carried around inside the mind and heart. Repeating this frequently will eventually flush out the noise where being still can hear God’s voice.

The best combination is being still with God and having God’s Word open. This allows your mind to focus on Him and hear Him speak through His word to your heart because all attention is on Him.

Receiving the harvest of blessings from God requires times or seasons of preparation, renewing or recharging, and to be doing things with the intention that the due season of harvest will arrive. By doing your part, God can do His, and together amazing things will be produced. Amen!

Honoring the Lord

My actions and behavior matter,
how I honor what Jesus has done matters.
For it reveals the condition of my heart.

BWAB – Empowerment from Matthew 18:5

1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

Receiving the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ is the most important thing a person can do in this life. The moment we receive Jesus, we start representing God and we become God’s temple with His Spirit living on the inside of us.

Honoring the Lord by the way we live is not salvation, Jesus did that part for us. But, our actions and behavior are still important to the Lord. We now represent God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit inside us. Our actions and behavior matter, for it, does reveal the condition of our heart. How we speak reflects what’s in our heart. How we respond, act, and behave reflects what’s in our heart.

When the heart is filled with Jesus, God’s Word, and allowing the Holy Spirit to counsel the soul, we then desire to be in His likeness. To be the best in His eyes wanting to please Him to our potential. Just with any healthy relationship, we want to be or become our best for that person. By showing that honor and respect, we open ourselves to receive so much more in this life. God fills life with His joy, His love, His peace, and His purpose for us.

Romans 6:23 ESV
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We should be encouraged to start living for eternity today. God has equipped us to do so through Jesus. We also have the Holy Spirit, and the gifts of the Spirit united with each one of our unique skills and talents. He gave us all this for this life, to be connected to Him in a relationship. To be doing amazing things in this life and glorify His name with ours. We are children of the Most High and we have access to that inheritance today if we choose too.

Honoring the Lord shows our faith, it shows we believe with certainty that He is the true living God. That He is part of this life as much as our eternal life. It demonstrates we want to please Him and want to receive His blessings today. But like a child to a father, it doesn’t need to be perfect. But when we love and honor, we are also humble, kind, and desiring to be better than yesterday.

Hebrews 11:6 New International Version (NIV)
And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

God is Honor and He will honor our ways, our decisions to face towards Him or have our backs to Him. But to experience His love, to see the rewards and blessings He has for us now, we need to face Him, talk with Him, seek Him and His truth. Start honoring Him with your faith, honor Him with your mind, honor Him with your body, honor Him with your words, Honor Him with your actions, honor Him with your time, honor Him with your finances. God will bless you, but more importantly, you will experience His love.

1 John 4:8
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Holy Spirit Prompting

Holy Spirit, guide me with your
wisdom and discernment,
listening to your voice and
not those that would only
lead me to trouble.

BWAB – Empowerment from John 7:3

Listening in the physical world takes effort that needs sharpening. Most people are willing to speak but not listen. In fact, some people are not even listening to you when you speak, they are too busy wanting to interrupt and speak what’s on their mind.

In John 14:26 says the Holy Spirit is our Helper and our Teacher. It is part of God’s promise to us that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). But God will never force us into listening to Him. He will knock on our door, but it is up to us and decide to open the door, to receive what He has for us.

Revelation 3:20 (ESV)
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

To hear the Holy Spirit (God’s Spirit), we need to be listening to the door knocking. Then we must choose to open the door. God has given us free will, even unto Him we are free to choose. Every believer has received the Holy Spirit and our Helper is always speaking to us. But like our parents, we can choose to ignore what they want said to us. Even to the point where we drown out their words and never heard them speak at all.

Listening to the Holy Spirit requires effort to hear as well. It is God’s Spirit that speaks to your heart. Most times, it is a pressing on the heart when a choice is being made. The feeling of right or wrong, truth or false, go or not to go, etc… But, you must quiet your thoughts, more than fifty thousand thoughts that come each day. Learning to distinguish from the difference between the two is important. Just like a parent knows their child’s voice call out in a crowd or a child that can hear the parent call out in a crowd. That distinction requires time together, being in a relationship with one another.

The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit that speaks according to God’s Word. The best way to hear the Holy Spirit is when your mind and physical senses are focused on God. Studying His Word allows the Holy Spirit to have the floor and reveal spiritual wisdom and knowledge to you. Helping you distinguish between the thoughts of the mind and what the Holy Spirit is saying to you. Jesus had times where He had to go away from the crowds to be alone and connect with God. If Jesus had to do this, then it is important for us to do this as well.

When situations arise where choices need to be made that can lead to worry, concern, anxiety, distress, stress, strife, agitation, harassment, hassle, unpleasantness, and more. Stop and quiet your thoughts to listen, making your heart sensitive for the door knocking from the Holy Spirit. It is not difficult to do, we just need to put effort towards it frequently to become a habit like a parent that hears their child cry in the night from a deep sleep. The more this is done, the easier it becomes to hear the knock and open that door to our Helper. Amen!

The Lord is my Hope

I am strong and I have good courage!
I am not afraid or dismayed because the
Lord my God is with me wherever I go.

BWAB – Empowerment from Joshua 1:9

In Hebrew 13:5 God said “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. As believers in Jesus, the Son of God, we have received God’s Spirit. His Spirit is living on the inside of you right now. He is always part of you no matter what is being faced. He is there loving you, comforting you, strengthening you, and giving you the hope that only He can give.

Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Hope exists outside the control we don’t have but nothing is outside of God. God has given His Word of promises that we can put our faith, our hope towards. It was written so we can hold onto them, we can declare them in our lives, and we can use them in every situation.

Hope in the Lord allows you to give the situation to Him, and step back with Him being first. Then in His power, His knowledge, and His wisdom, He changes the impossible to possible and He will have it done in a way you never thought. He does in a supernatural way, a superior way that will leave you without a doubt it was Him who listened to you and responded to you.

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) says “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) says “5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Whatever your putting hope in the Lord for, give it to Him without restrictions, without your beliefs the outcome should be, and without time limits. He is God and He will deliver in a His Godly way.

Renew your mind as often as possible of what is possible with God by reading His Word. Meditating on His promises and make them your dominant thoughts over what is being faced. He will do it through His glory and raise you up higher than before. That is the God we have and serve. Amen!
